Behind The Lens

Location

This was in my hometown in Brainerd Minnesota Woods where I take walks often, I grew up on a farm so I learned to talk to animals. Because of this experience, I have learned that they respond to your talking and do not run away, I was just walking by. I was about 4 feet away from this little guy.

Time

This was early in the morning around 10 am. it was a warm day in the fall.

Lighting

I was talking and this little guy and he was listening. I think he enjoyed someone talking to him, he at least looked like he did.

Equipment

I had a single tripod easier for on the move. I had on auto which I find walking in the woods when I come upon wildlife it is easier than trying to set the camera manually for every situation. no flash. just my Nikon B500, no special lens

Inspiration

I take photos of the books I create. Colors of Creation, I match colors in the photos and do an artistic framing around them with the matched colors. Then to encourage I add scripture and my own poems. These photos are for many of my friends who are shut-ins. I volume three finished I will try to promote them to hospitals, using homes, mental institutions, they are100 pages each. Places where people are shut in and cannot get out to enjoy what we all take for granted. This inspiration came before covid happened. I took many people with disabilities to movies picnics church, many of my friends are now shut-in. My heart is for them when I take these photos. I hope in the very near future to promote them. Volume one is Mississippi River Autumn. volume two is Flowers, Seeds, and Things. The 3 Volume is Birds. I will many different subjects eventually.

Editing

Yes. But I live for the moment in what I do. I have things set and ready before. Some things I can capture with more time with mannually.

In my camera bag

I walk in situations where carrying a lot of equipment is not a good idea. the bare minimum. mostly Things to take care of the camera. extra SD cards. I do not want to cause interruptions at the moment.I go with limited equipment. but good equipment. It seems to work for me. I hope to have better cameras in the future.

Feedback

Just relax, don't be in a hurry or afraid to cause nature to be uneasy with you. I believe animals like people are curious about us. Most live secluded lives so when you're friendly and just not in a hurry it makes for good interaction and with nature. Oh, I also pray to God to see what he sees in the photos I take. I also talk to insects bees dragonflies butterflies. Thanks, for liking my photo !!
