Looking eastward towards 8809' tall Half Dome, towering 4000' above the valley, in California's Yosemite National Park as the fall sun begins to set.
To the left of frame, just peaking out above the Royal Arches is 7539' tall North Dome. This meadow is a reminder for those of us who have been coming here long enough of the old golf course which accompanied the Ahwahnee Hotel, hidden behind the trees.
To the left of Half Dome as we look at it is Tenaya Canyon. Down this canyon the glacier most responsible for carving the valley scoured its way for a few more miles past us. To the right of Half Dome is where the Merced River runs in the tracks of the ancient glaciers which formed the Little Yosemite Valley and gave us the beautiful Vernal and Nevada Falls.
