I was awestruck when I came upon this incredible majestic Old Growth Maple Tree in Poulsbo. I measured the circumference and it came out to about 158" at 4.5' height. This works out to a bit over 230 Years Old. This tree was a seedling around the 1780's or 1790's, It’s possible it could date back to the birth of our nation! I tried to also capture the amazing light all around and under the tree canopy; golden yellow filtered through thousands of leaves proclaiming the glory of another season...sleep for a time and then renewal, in a process that has repeated for ~9 generations.
Imagining the generations of children, grandchildren & greatgrandchildren who have played, climbed, swung and laughed with joy. Memories imprinted from childhood and taken to heaven, while this tree continues to thrive providing a living link to generations long passed.
