Location
I took this shot at one of my favorite sets of waterfalls, Autrain Falls, which is a few miles from the shore of Lake Superior, in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Very easily accessible, for just about anyone.Time
I believe I shot this around midday.Lighting
I prefer grey cloudy days for long exposure shots, as I do not use an ND filter, I have contemplated buying one though.Equipment
I generally just bring my camera, a tripod, and a polarizer.Inspiration
I am inspired to shoot just about any waterfall I see. I absolutely love walking in the water, and searching out the smaller details that you don't see from the shore.Editing
Just enough to make this black and white, I really love the smooth silkiness that comes out with the black and white. In my camera bag
Usually my Canon 6D, multiple multiple lenses and filters, a wireless remote, lens cleaning stuff, extra batteries and SD cards, a rain fly, and dry socks.Feedback
Patience is a virtue, not every shot turns out as you'd like it too. Study and research the terrain and map of where you are going to hike, pay attention to the weather, I absolutely love grey cloudy days. Make sure people know where you are going, anything could happen. Practice your camera settings, and lighting.
