Location
This photo was taken just minutes from my house in a lovely place called Rivergrove Park, Kingwood, Texas, next to the San Jacinto River. Since then, the view has been largely blocked by a 15 foot sand bar placed by Hurricane Harvey.Time
SunriseLighting
As the sun rose, the lighting kept changing, enhanced by the early morning fog.Equipment
I used a Sony mirrorless ILCE 7 with a Tamron 15-300mm lens.Inspiration
I love to go here in the early morning when the birds are coming out exploring and I'm all by myself with Mother Nature at her best.Editing
I used Photoshop to Camera Raw to dehaze a little to bring out detail in the fog, increased the clarity, and copied the bird in the water and flipped it to add more interest. I also added a few more birds in the sky using Luminar. There were a few birds there, but most of the sky was empty and I felt it added a little more to the story line.In my camera bag
My mirrorless, (now a Sony 7II full sensor), a Tamron 15-300mm and a Tamron 150-600mm, and a Sony F2.8 70-200mm, and a tripod. Sometimes I also bring a neutral filter or polarizing filter.Feedback
Patience. Also, when you're in an awesome place, every now and then turn around and look behind you! You might be missing something spectacular.
