Location
This photo was shot at Pitt Lake in Pitt Meadows, British Columbia. I am a self-taught photographer, who is trying out every avenue in the photography world.Time
This shot was taken at about 5 pm. My wife and I were on our way to a friend's house for dinner. Right after we dropped my two year old off with the babysitters, we had some time to spare. Therefore, we ended up at this lake to take a few photos. I am new to photography, so i am taking every opportunity I get to take awesome shots like this.Lighting
I really wanted this shot to capture the "fluffiness" of the clouds, and the shadows in the lake. So, I just kept walking around testing the many spots around this lake. I only had an Iphone 11 pro max at the time of this photo, so I was not able t adjust aperture and iso levels. It was a one-shot capture, with a little bit of editing.Equipment
I shot with photo with an Iphone 11 Pro Max and later edited it with Adobe Lightroom.Inspiration
I had seen many photos of lakes shadowing what sits above and beside them. So I had started researching how to get the best shot with the best lighting. Of course, i could only work as far as an Iphone would let me, however, the Iphones have seriously improved their camera quality.Editing
I did use Adobe Lightroom. I simply lowered the exposure and raised the black, white and shadows. I then followed that process with adjusting the saturation of the colours and raising the hue of each colour represented in this photo. In my camera bag
At the time I only packed my Iphone. Now I am always caught running out the door with my iphone as well as my Canon t7i. The only lens I am packing at the moment is the 18-50mm.Feedback
My only advice thus far is to follow your heart. Take the time to pursue your dreams in photography and spend all the time you can to learn the different techniques. don't be afraid to take criticism from the masters in the industry.
