Location
This photo was taken at Matthiessen State Park.Time
:This photo was taken around 9:30 am on October 12, 2020. The park had more visitors than expected so I had stopped to let a group of hikers pass me and turned around to adjust some setting on my camera since I was no longer in the canyon.Lighting
The lighting was amazing. The sun was coming in through the trees enough to add to the glow in the trees. This allowed me to capture the warmth on this Autumn Day.Equipment
This was shot with a Sony A600, ISO 160, F/5.6, exposure time of 1/2000 sec at a focal length of 16mm.Inspiration
This was really just away to pass the time and allowed me to adjust some settings. I'm happy I took the time to let the hikers pass me so I could stop and capture this beautiful path.Editing
I did adjust the contracts and the hue to get the desired color. In my camera bag
I would be completely lost without my Sony 18-50mm lens. The ability to carry one lens for the majority of my landscape shots makes my bag lighter when hiking down canyons were the limestones are known to be slippery. I also never leave home without extra batteries.Feedback
Central Illinois is known to make travelers feel like they are in the Ozark's. The limestone canyons were formed by glaciers years ago and offers many great areas to explore and changing landscapes with the rivers running through them. The canyons provide for difficulty when it comes to getting the right lighting for a breath taking shot. I try to get out in the early morning so the sun is not coming straight into the canyons and add amazing features and accents. It is best to take these shots on an angle to get the full view of the beauty that is surrounding the shot
