Behind The Lens

Location

I took this on Plymouth Barbican, a couple years ago. It had been raining the night before, so I sat on a cold, wet pavement for it.

Time

Early morning, around 7:30 but I'd been waiting for an hour for this shot.

Lighting

It's completely natural light, and this was one of those shots that you only have a few minutes to get right, due the way the clouds were moving.

Equipment

Canon 400d with 18-55mm lens, no tripod or flash.

Inspiration

As someone who had dealt with mutliple health issues which led to pretty bad depression, I wanted to go out and prove I could do something with my camera, I wanted to be productive. So I took this photo whilst seeing what I could do on it.

Editing

I did, just adjusting the lighting and darkening the clouds a little, just to help show their shape.

In my camera bag

Nowadays, I have my Canon 6D with 28-105mm lens, my Instax Printer and that's it. Im fairly poor so I can't afford much equipment.

Feedback

Be prepared to wait around for a while, don't be afraid to try different angles. Don't look at the world like others do.
