Behind The Lens
Location
I took this picture in Brazil, very close to Porto Galillhas.Time
It was between 12pm and 1pm.Lighting
I was not sure to take pictures at noon time because the light In the Tropical countries at that time makes so many exposures and bad shadows, but I’m glad to did it.Equipment
Just a little camera, borrowed, owner was using just in automatic mode and I began to use in manual mode.Inspiration
To try the new little camera in manual mode. The colors of the scene and the boats floating like on a cementery of forget boats didn’t give me time to search another target.Editing
No, I’m old school and I enjoy so much to play with the camera to get the picture I want. I’m not saying I don’t like the post processing, but I try not to apply in my pics.In my camera bag
I have a little old Canon EOS with 4 lenses, but it’s not all the time with me because I forget many times to charge the batteries. For me, the equipment is important to make quality pictures to print, but what matter is to have at least, the intention with a smartphone camera in manual mode.Feedback
Get a camera, put it in manual mode, play changing the values in exposure, ISO and opening. I always put manual light mode in “shadow” or “cloudy” mode when it’s so sunny and “sunny” light mode when it’s foggy and raining. The flash “cut” the sun light and I used it so much in sunny days. I always try to make the pictures from a shadow in sunny days, e.g. I put the camera under the cap or hat. And the most important, try to make composition, not try to make one thousand pictures and choose the best, try to make a very good picture in just one shoot.
