Behind The Lens

Location

I shot it on what is called the Nome-Council Road l, located roughly 30 miles south of Nome Alaska. The nearby hill snow melt created a river bed of the rocks. I then used a neutral density filter and capture the image to create the “silky” look.

Time

It was midday roughly 2p.m.

Lighting

There was plenty of light. The ND filter was very handy that day.

Equipment

At the time a Rebel 4ti with a kit lens....18-135 cropped lens. I didn’t have a tri-pod at the time so I just placed it on a nearby rock.

Inspiration

The beauty of the water quickly rushing over the rocks the multi-colored rocks.

Editing

Yes. Lightroom. I was not too knowledgeable of post processing at the time.

In my camera bag

Currently my Canon D6 Mark II and the T4i. Lenses...24-105, wide angle, 70-300, 50mm, and tri-pod.

Feedback

Definitely an ND filter. Seek and you shall find. Always have an open mind and use your imagination. Nature can provide an amazing canvas to work with.
