I took this photo as the sun was rising behind the mountains at around 4:40 AMLighting
The lighting in this photo is completely natural. I underexposed the foreground so that the sky and clouds were properly exposed showing the cloud patterns that were backlit by the not yet visible sun.Equipment
I used a Canon rebel T5 on a Manfrotto tripod with the default 18-55mm lenseInspiration
I up was early in the morning and looking outside I was taken back the the view and as soon as I saw that I immediately got the camera and setup the tripod aimed at the mountains.Editing
Originally I tried to remove the sky blue at the top of the frame but in the end i decided i liked the way it originally looked as it was more natural and so the picture is straight from the camera without corrections.In my camera bag
I usually only have the camera with charger and sometimes i'll have the tripod handy alsoFeedback
My advice is check the weather, be spontaneous and don't stall as when the sun rises more it changes the light angle making the clouds practically disappear.
