I took this photo in the evening. We have beautiful sunsets.Lighting
There are those moments when everything is perfect. The lighting is right, timing, everything speaks to me. Because it is only a matter of seconds when that lighting can change, and you miss that shot. You can still take the picture' but it just wasn't the same as it was a few seconds ago. I've ran into the house to grab a camera and come out within a matter of seconds and that perfect lighting is gone. Yes, the photo looks good but it is missing that moment that was perfect.Equipment
I use a Galaxy Note 9 phone. My father-in-law gave me a terrific 35mm camera with filters etc.. But, I don't want it to get broke. My phone I carry with me all the time whether it is on horseback, moving the wheel lines, or in/on a vehicle/motorcycle.Inspiration
I'm always outside in the summer either changing sprinklers or playing and working with my dogs and horses. I really never noticed the world around me per se. That is until my husband passed and then one day it was like I woke up. Yes, I'd see a nice sunset, but now I can tell even sitting in the house by the lighting on the trees if it is time to go out with my phone and get a shot ( yes, I've missed a few good ones doing that). It was just one of those moments when I was outside that I thought, "That would be a beautiful shot".Editing
I do not process any of my photos really. Probably, 99% of them I do not. This one wasn't touched up. It is rare that I have to do it with my phone. I have a "pro" setting on my Galaxy but I rarely us it. I can change a lot of stuff in it but it is not used much at all. I just use the regular camera. In my camera bag
Well, I just have my Galaxy Note 9. And my sunglasses. Once in a while I will used my polaroid sunglasses to try out a photo to see which I like. It is easier to carry and take shots with it, than having a camera around my neck while riding. If I drop the phone it still works, where as the camera could fall and break. I limit myself. Oh, I also have a 18x lens I can pop on if need be but it works best for still shots not the gait of a horse.Feedback
It is amazing what you can find out there. Don't limit yourself, and try new and different things. Take the photo at a different angle or upside down even. For, nature it is all around you. From seeing a new little tiny frog to the largest tree. You may not have that instinct that some photographers have ( I certainly do not), but don't let that limit you. Do you know how many shots it can take for a photographer to get that perfect shot? Especially when it comes to animals 100's of them. The trick is to let them be who they are, let nature do what it does. And there are filters too. Don't be afraid to experiment with anything. You are limitless with photography. Enjoy taking the photo because you love to, the rest will come with time.
