Location
I am very much an amateur photographer and trying to learn on my own. I took this picture using my macro lens of a beautiful deep purple flower while hiking through Adkins Arboretum in Ridgely MD. They have some of the prettiest flowers in the Summer.Time
This picture was taken in the morning during some of our nicest days that year. It was too hot and humid that I was able to take my time walking around looking at the flowers, animals, birds, and butterflies.Lighting
It was early morning and the sun wasn't too high in the sky yet so I had plenty of shade for the picture.Equipment
Nikon D70 with a Macro lens, I did not need a tripod or flash for this shot.Inspiration
I believe there is beauty all around us if we know how to look. This flower just seemed to have a more vibrant hue than the others around it and my attention was just drawn to it.Editing
No, I don't know how to do this yet nor do I have any programs for it.In my camera bag
I have bought new equipment this year and I now carry a Canon T7i with me everywhere. I have the normal lens; 8-55mm, 75-300mm. I also carry the commander Pro HD series .43x HD AF Wide Angle lens and the 2.2x HD AF Telephoto lens.Feedback
All I can say is practice, practice, practice. Try the shot in different lighting situations, angles, time of day, and find what works best for your style. I am still a work in progress photographer and enjoy the advice I receive from others.
