Location
This was taken in the early afternoon on a road through the Serengeti in TanzaniaTime
This was taken about 2pm.Lighting
The lighting was pretty good but there was some bright yellow foliage in the background.Equipment
I used a Canon 60D from inside a Range Rover which was, obviously, stopped. You are not allowed outside the vehicle in that situation.Inspiration
I'm from Kansas in the USA and to see these animals in a group, in their native habitat was so impressive.Editing
I had to lower the highlights and decrease the shadowland then slid the clarity slider a little left of center. In my camera bag
I that situation I was limited with the amount of luggage of all kinds so I just had my camera and battery charger and a 70-200 zoom lens. I will also carry a polarizing filter. Normally I will have a flash, f1.8 50mm lens, 85mm with my 24-105 on the camera. Also myCanon G9XFeedback
Be prepared for what you might see and as the light changes I will take a practice shot of something to check my settings. Don't forget to look behind you, too.
