Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo in Harbor Springs, Michigan at the Offield Family Viewlands which is a golf course that has been left to grow wild and be used as a nature preserve.

Time

I took the photo at 11:00 am.

Lighting

It was an overcast day.

Equipment

I used my iPhone.

Inspiration

It was a grey day and the grasses were somewhat dry due to a lack of rain. As we started to climb the hill, I noticed these flowers and and loved how the color popped against the dry grass and the pine trees where the trail was leading us.

Editing

No processing

In my camera bag

I typically carry my Nikon but was concerned about rain.

Feedback

Don’t discount using any tools in your bag. I walk about 8 miles and don’t always have my Nikon. I do, however, always have my iPhone with me and and happy to have some of the spur of the moment shots that come together nicely.
