Location
"The Breath of God," was taken in Las Cruces, New Mexico.Time
It was late evening, as the sun was about to set.Lighting
The sun was reflecting off some amazing clouds, and the image of fire in the sky was what my eye saw.Equipment
My camera was a Canon EOS 5D Mark III, lens was Canon 70-200 IS f2.5 zoom.Inspiration
The sun setting with the telephone poles, made me think of Crosses. I had to capture the image.Editing
I have never used photo shop, only my software on my computer from the Canon image software that came with my camera. I adjusted the lighting and color to get the desired effect. The raw image was good, but I felt it needed a little more to really draw you into the mood of the capture. In my camera bag
Two lenses, 24-104 zoom, and 70-200 zoom., extra battery, and flash.Feedback
When you see an image that you feel compelled to capture, even if it's not perfect, trust your creative eye. Sometimes, you have to take chances. I remember a shot I missed, an early winter morning, driving on an icy road with cars and a school bus behind me. Wild Native American horses plunging up a mountain hillside in the snow. An image for a lifetime. I couldn't stop to get the shot, as I would have caused an accident. I regret missing that once in a lifetime shot, it haunts me still.
