Location
I took this not far Shinsekai a alley filled with restaurants, popular for its view of Hitachi Tower. We visited this alley a couple of times for dinner when we had our two week stay in Osaka.Time
It was probably around 8pm, most shops were still open but there was definitely less people around. In Osaka 7pm seemed to be the busiest, unlike Tokyo where everyone seemed to be around at 12pm.Lighting
The taxi seemed to be parked in the perfect position to catch some of the light of the sign which made some pretty cool reflections.Equipment
All I used was my Nikon D3500 with a 30mm 1.7/f lens.Inspiration
I had my camera with me almost everyday for the holiday we took. So I just thought the taxi looked to be in a really good spot.Editing
I run all my photos through Lightroom for a little colour grading. I was able to create a preset that just needed a couple tweaks for all the photos I took at night in Osaka. In my camera bag
I don't have much when it comes to equipment, just entry-level stuff. So I have my Nikon D3500, with my Nikkor 30mm 1.8/f prime lens, which because of my camera cropped sensor essential acts like a 50mm. A long with that I also have Sigma 100-300mm 4.5/f that I actually bought on this very trip to Japan. Also a small square of LEDs which has not failed to come in handy.Feedback
Use a quick lens. Night shot like this are so difficult to get if your lens only has a 3.5/f or higher. Don't be afraid to take pictures that may seem to be a little more on the mundane side.
