Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo just at the foot of Etive Mor in Glencoe on the way back from a trip to the Highlands and the Isle of Skye.

Time

It was around 3 o'clock in the afternoon when I got here to take this picture.

Lighting

Lighting wasn't the best, as you can see the sky was very overcast, but decided to take a few pics and see what happened. I was glad that I did take the pictures as I was lucky enough to get a few good shots.

Equipment

I used a Canon 6D Mkii, my 18mm to 105mm lens, my variable ND filter and my tripod to get this shot, luckily I can pair my camera to my phone so I used that as my trigger.

Inspiration

I had seen information on this picture online and wanted to see it for myself, luckily it was only 10 mins off the beaten path, and then a 10 min trudge through the bog, but turned out good.

Editing

In post processing I layered a quick exposure image with the long exposure one to minimise the movement in the tree. Brought out the vibrance and saturation and left it at that.

In my camera bag

In my bag I normally carry my camera, 2 lenses (50mm and my 18mm to 105mm) my tripod and my ND filters.

Feedback

Just go out and take pictures of what you like, fill the frame with the things that you want to see. Worry about other people later. :)
