I actually took this photo on the side of a double lane car tunnel in our small town. It’s kind of out of the way so bit many people use it so it’s a great place to go down and take pictures.Time
This photo was taken at around 1:30pm this was because both me and the subject have other jobs so we can usually only shoot when lighting is less then optimal.Lighting
There is nothing to special about this lighting other then I had to have a low ISO due to the fact it was such a sunny day outside and I forgot my light reflection panels that day.Equipment
For this shoot in perticular I did not use much equipment other then my Nikon D7200 with a Nikon 18-140mm lens.Inspiration
I wish I could tell you that there was some type of great inspiration for this photo but really there’s not. This whole shoot and photo came about because the subject is actually a musician and she needed content for her Instagram so I grab my camera and took off and after taking several hundred pictures in about a thirty minute session I found this gem in the pile.Editing
I did minimal post processing to this picture as I felt it was better raw personally. But what I did do was some ever so slight healing to acne on the face then adjusted the saturation, whites, and blacks so it looks better in black and white. Then I added a slight negative vignette to the picture for added effect. In my camera bag
I usually bring with me my pelican with my Nikon D7200 along with the 18-140mm 1:3-5.6G lens, 35mm 1:1.8G lens, 50mm 1:1.8G lens, 40mm 1:2.8G lens. Add in with 5 double sided reflector panels, a tripod, Sd cards and a back up battery and you have my full kit.Feedback
I’m no professional by any means even though I try to take half decent pictures. But the biggest advice I can give is just get out there and take pictures of everything, it doesn’t matter if the pictures are not good just take pictures. Get that experience under your belt, find what works for you with the style you like, and most importantly just have fun.
