Location
I took this picture in a Montreal park with my model Gaelle, a bright girl who came to see me for a casting portrait shooting but to whom I did a full portrait shooting.Time
It was near the sunset hour, I wanted to catch this perfect august light with her beautifull smileLighting
We was in the shadow of a big rock, the natural light were perfect, her eyes catched the reflection of the sky, no green reflection made by treesEquipment
I only use my Nikon D750, no reflector the moment was too quick. I can't remember, my cobra was on my camera but I think I did'nt use it for this special shotInspiration
We was shooting nice shot and different point of view for her casting portrait. At a moment, she took a break, played to jump from a big rock to an other. Shet sit in the ground and start to play with the rocks kn the ground. I asked her to let in go in front of my camera and bang, the magic was done !Editing
I usully pay attention to my Post-production to get the right color and light..... this shot was almost perfect, i just ajust deformation from my lens, add a little bit of contrast and it was doneIn my camera bag
I usually have my Nikon D750 and a Nikon D610 for back-up. Always have a grey card, a cobra, a circulair polarisant, some glass rock to get effect. I also usually shot with an 24-120mm (f4) or a normal 50mm (f1.8). In my backback, you'll also always find a lot of SD card, some tools in case of a needing, a magic ball, a lighter, a flashlight and a protection in case of rain. I try to be prepared to wath ever happen!Feedback
Use a fast shutter but not too fast: at least 1/125e to get the rocks mouvement Explain to the child how rocks can break your camera ! Gaelle had such a good understanding of how to work with a photograph it was easy!
