Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in the swiss alps, close to Finhaut. This place was a very touristic area in the early 1920s. About the same time many hydropower plants were build in the area.

Time

It was in the early morning. I was actually leaving the accomodation to find something to eat for breakfast. About that moment i set a foot in front of the door, i was stunned by the clear view and early morning haze.

Lighting

It was difficult to keep the harsh light in balance with the shadows.

Equipment

This Photo was taken with a Canon 60D and a tele zoom lense.

Inspiration

I'm always stunned by majestic mountains. The wires are a very sginificant part of the landscape around the area of Finhaut. So why cut them out, if you can put them where they belong?

Editing

I had to lighten up the shadows.

In my camera bag

An F-1 analog and a digital (Canon 60D) camera. A zoom or tele- and a 35mm prime lense. I enjoy the analog camera very much. Mostly because its a full frame Body. The seeker is so huge and it is like diving into this other world. The weight and the sound gives a unique feeling.

Feedback

Never forget that we are living in a anthropological shaped landscape. Sometimes it complements a landscape.
