Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in Pisa the city of the inclined tower, crossed by this river called the Arno, in the summer the level is low the banks become open-air premises.

Time

I don't have a good memory it was the period between the end of August and the beginning of September from 11.30pm to 12.00am I could have done it even immediately after sunset.

Lighting

As for the lights, nothing particular, the lights are those offered by the environment, it is a classic photo with long exposure.

Equipment

In this case a mini tripod which is always in my bag, for specific bag which is for daily use, I also use it to carry shopping, the camera is a lumix GF1 which is almost always with me since I started photographing, the always lumix 20mm f1. 7 lens wide open.

Inspiration

I am often around to find some images, I am not a landscape architect, I take many images with movements to stop, but at night they are reduced, so I shoot some still subject, some detail that strikes me, I thought it appropriate to capture the scene with the reflection that angle.

Editing

The Gf1 at the moment is not really the most loved camera by landscape architects, I mean that a micro 4/3 sensor now dated at night has excessive noise, sometimes even using low ISO, so after a noise reduction work, I had to intervene selectively in darker areas.

In my camera bag

As already mentioned the lumix GF1 with the 20mm f1.7, for portraits or different photos a few times for street photography, a lumix G6 that I combine with a Nikon e-series 50mm F1.8 lens, I rarely use a 125mm, tripods , lights.

Feedback

I don't want to dwell on it, to take a photo like that you have to look for a similar condition, and then not take a similar photo, the most important thing besides a minimum of technical mastery is to look for something that is worth a photograph.
