Behind The Lens

Location

This picture was taken at the Anselmo Hotel, in the San Telmo Historical Centre (Buenos Aires, Argentina). This was the opening of an art gallery, a live performance with a body-paint model.

Time

"San Valentin" was taken at sunset, a cocktail event as the sun went down. Gorgeously romantic evening on Valentine´s Day.

Lighting

Flash and soft lights were used since the lighting around us was way too dim, stunning for atmosphere yet not for pictures haha.

Equipment

I was lucky enough to use a Nikon 750 and a 910 Flash with a soft. I manually held the camera and the flash was propped up by a tripod, control remote by an assistant.

Inspiration

The date this picture was Valentine´s Day, so of course the love all around me drove me to this piece. It was inspired on this date, and a collaboration with other artists who offered their skill to create this picture.

Editing

Yes! I edited out the original background with Lightroom and Photoshop. It would've distracted from the main event which was the model. I am absolutely in love with the end result.

In my camera bag

I usually take a Zapata Flash, my trusted Nikon 750, a Soft for my Flash, a stand, batteries, memory SD cards, and my two lenses a 50 mm and 85 mm and a zoom lens!

Feedback

Sometimes you cannot find the perfect picture in your everyday life but build them yourself. This picture was a construction, a character we created with a team to achieve this final result. Thank you so much for the honor of wanting to know more of my work, Ivone Ramadori.
