' Moichhara ' is a local festival at Canning, South 24 Parganas, in the state of West Bengal of my motherland, India. Moichhara marks the onset of monsoon which also means the onset of the ploughing season for the local farmers. The local farmers-villagers arrange for a grand inauguration of the ploughing season by arranging a sort of cattle race which is not only interesting but spine chilling at times. The contestant is expected to race with a pair of bullocks and dislodge a pole while holding both tails of the bullocks firmly in his palm. This is one such moment shot in June 2019
