Behind The Lens

Location

I take this foto in the Lago Ausente, in Picos de Europa in the province of León (Spain) doing hiking. Lago Ausente is one of the Isoba Lakes, and the legend says is so deep, and is connected with the sea. Is just a legend: the truth is that lake is just an snow water lake.

Time

It was at the afternoon, we were eating there, and after that we went to the upper side of the mountain, that is were i took that photo

Lighting

I guess the secret of the photo is the Foveon sensor of the camera, i love my old Sigma SD14, i have other cameras, but in certain situations, i didn't found something like Fov...

Equipment

Just a Sigma SD14 and be patient with the camera. I guess i used a 17-70mm. It's a pretty nice and versatile lens.

Inspiration

The Picos de Europa doesn't need a lot of inspiration. For sure is one of the nicest and virgins places of Spain.

Editing

I post-process that photo with the Lightroom. I used to post-process all the Foveon photos with Lightroom and SPP. It depends of the result i post one or the other

In my camera bag

It depends: right now if i gonna do hiking or just photo travel, i get my little M4/3 Oly with a 14-42mm, a 40-150mm, and an old Super Takumar 50mm 1,4f. I use my Nikon for photo studio, and i still using my old sigma for certain things, mostly with a nice 10-20mm...

Feedback

If you can use a tripod, just take at least 3 pictures with auto braketing to try a HDR picture, just for compare the nice one.
