Location
This photo is taken from the top of Reinebringen mountain in Lofoten Norway.Time
This photo was taken during sunset golden hour on the top of a huge mountain. It is a legendary spot to take photos but this composition is not something you usually see from that spot. Since usually pictures are taken with wide angle lens from here but this one with telephoto lens.Lighting
Lighting in this picture makes this scene. Weather forecast was looking really good on this day and I already checked from Photopills that direction of the sun is optional during golden hour for this scene. Sun rays coming through mountains from the left and casts the light in walls of the mountains on the right create a nice detail.Equipment
I used Sony A7III and Sigma 105mm art lens with manfrotto tripod for this photo. It's not a single picture. This photo is actually 4 shot panorama taken with 105mm lens.Inspiration
I was looking forward this spot in general because I had seen many amazing pictures taken from Reinebringen. When we finally arrived there after a long uphill hike and I saw the light far in the back I immediately changed my wide angle lens to tele lens and started to figure out the composition for this photo. First I took single images but I wasn't able to fit everything in the scene that I wanted and I'm glad that I also took this panorama because it finally became one of my favorite photos of that day.Editing
I used Lightroom for processing this photo. First I combined 4 images to create this panorama and then did basic adjustments for white balance, color temperature and exposure. I made a small S-curve and also used some color grading. Originally there was a lot more green in the picture but I decided to grade greens more towards orange and I think it works really well.In my camera bag
Nowadays I have Sony A7rIV, Sigma 24mm art, Samyang 14mm f2,8. Tamron 70-180 f,28 and Sony 200-600mm for wildlife pictures. I also carry my DJI Air 2s with some extra batteries and tripod. So my bag is really heavy and usually carry everything with me because I couldn't live with myself if I missed a good wildlife picture if I didn't carry my 200-600mm all the time.Feedback
In reinebringen best time to shoot during summer is sunset and golden hour. There are now shadowing mountains for this scene so I wouldn't go there too early. Bring a sturdy tripod since it's really windy up there and take at least two takes if you are shooting panorama. One of my pictures on the first pano was not sharp but since I took them double I had a sharp one as well in the end. If you have zoom lens like 70-200 for example you don't even need to take a panorama photo. You could get same results around 80mm or 90mm.
