Location
This photo is taken a couple of hundred meters from my home. I live in a small suburb to Stockholm, in Sweden. The pond is created to take care of pollutants. This photo was taken some years ago, and now the pond is covered in seaweed. A couple of swans lived there but I was just interested in the full moon - I thought, then this swan appeared to the scene.Time
I was taken a drive pretty early at the evening and I got a glimt of the full moon, so I drove home to pick up my camera and took a walk back to the pond, so about 7.45 pm.Lighting
I think I took the picture just in time, a little bit sooner and the blue light had turned to much darker. And I don´t use flash when I take pictures and I´m not very good to adjust the camera so I always have to trust the right kind of natural light. I really wanted to keep the blue tone in this picture.Equipment
I used my Olympus pen digital camera, nothing else.Inspiration
The light inspired me. I love to take photos at the blue hour. (Now I even have a better camera, so the moon will get better sharpnes.) I saw the swan after a little while and I saw the reflection of the moon in the pond. I had to wait quite a long time before the swan finally swimmed right into the reflection. To be a photographer is often about waiting for the right moment. Or the opposite - having the camera ready for the perfect snapshot. I like the indistinct feeling in the picture, I don't go for the perfect sharp in my pictures, I like when they are more dreamy.Editing
I don't work with post-processing and that of many reasons. It doesnt amuse me, I only want to take a perfekt photo from the beginning. In my camera bag
Nicon coolpix B500 and my cellphone (Samsung Galaxy S7). That's all.Feedback
Don't wait to long, if you work at the same way I do. Go to the scene in good time and wait for the perfect blue tone. Only use natural light.
