Behind The Lens

Location

I had taken this photo in front of my home in Pune City, Maharashtra, India.

Time

It was early in the morning, around 7.00ish. These squirrels loves running around theses wooden fences.

Lighting

Nothing beats early morning light. Especially it it’s a clear sunny day.

Equipment

I used the Canon 550D camera, with the 55mm-250mm telephoto len.

Inspiration

Something about the similarity between the lines on the back of the squirrel and the lines of the fence, always caught my eye, and it stood out so much more in monochrome.

Editing

Post- processing was mainly making it black & white and increasing the sharpness of the image a little bit.

In my camera bag

I always have my canna 550d & my cannon 80d. Because I hate len swapping in the middle of shooting. My 550d is mounted with my 10-18mm wide angle, and the 80d is mounted with my 55- 250mm telephoto len.

Feedback

I am a self taught photographer, and very much an amateur at the art of photography. And even though a lot of people might not agree with this...but this is how I improved...keep clicking that same picture till you get the result you are looking for. I don’t always wait for the right composition or frame, just keep clicking, make sure you know what you want to focus on, the eye of an animal, the nail on the fence, the grain in the wood...pick one and focus on it...everything else will fall in place.
