Behind The Lens

Location

Always had a interest in conservation as well as wildlife. As such I paid for a private tour of Woburn safari so I could get up close to the pride.

Time

It was taken at around 11:00 am and the pride were basking under a tree so I was able to quickly move out the vehicle to place the camera in a hidden spot then operate it with a control .

Lighting

I liked to look for a certain position so that although the sunlight was quite strong it added character to the picture. I tend to take towards the sun so when the light came through the trees it added character to the picture.

Equipment

I used a canon 7D Mark ii The Tamron 150-600 A camera bean bag

Inspiration

I had spent the morning watching the pride and it was a case of patience of the lioness being in the right place along with the right light placement.

Editing

It was originally taken in colour I then developed it in photoshop to black and white I also cropped the photo to what you see now . The original was not focused on the lioness but more so on the pride.

In my camera bag

I have two bags with me. The main one is my general cameras and lens 7D mark ii , EOS 1100D , Tamron 150-600 Canon 85mm, canon 75-300. ND Filters Spare battery Remote shutter release. Map Sketch pad Drawing pens

Feedback

Patience . Don’t be to quick to take a shot or you’ll just end up taking snaps . Don’t be to afraid to try something .
