The photo was taken in a huge barn near Andover. The barn was full of old cars and bikes as well as the genuinely old suitcase in the photo.Time
This is shot in the afternoon but there's no natural light used.Lighting
The lighting was fairly complex using 5 strobes, various v flats etc. I build from the back so the last light is the key light and work from an initial setting of zero natural light.Equipment

We were trying to get something where the situation was completely at odds with the model and what she was wearing. Not sure you'd wear this dress in a old barn.Editing
Lots : the smoke is added in post and there is significant retouching. I'm lucky enough to work with this model a lot and there's very little direction needed so it's just a case of adding drama.In my camera bag
