Behind The Lens

Location

I took this picture of my niece at the local skate park in Eastvale CA.

Time

I started taking pictures an hour before golden hour. This was one of 3 looks we did. she is an aspiring skater and model. So we went with a skater girl look. Basically her everyday look.

Lighting

I wanted her to pop out of the picture. So I used a single strobe 2 Fstops higher than the background.

Equipment

I used a Canon T7I crop sensor camera with a kit 18-55 lens. Im new to photography as I bought my camera nov of 2019. on black friday to be exact. I used a Nicefoto 600 watt ETTL strobe as my main light. had it set to manual to better controls the light.

Inspiration

Im taking a photography class to learn how to use the camera and equipment. So this was one of the assignments in the portrait section of the class. lol

Editing

I cleaned up the colors in LR.

In my camera bag

considering im new. I have canon T7I, a 50mm prime lense, canon 580 exII speed light, 18-55 and 75-300 kit lenses my camera came with and two memory cards

Feedback

just go out and shoot. im finding that shooting as much as I can is great practice. im in my first year of shooting and im loving. Eventually I will save up and buy a full frame camera but thats a while away as they are expensive. Ive been told its not the tool but how you use the tools that matter.
