Those gentle ripples… The vibrant color and silhouette trees. That elegant natural symmetry of a water reflection. It’s like a dream.

Location
A water feature where I live in Southern Arizona. I spent a year taking cloudy sunsets in 2019Time
At sunset between 5:30pm and 7pm. The dense clouds added a dramatic touch to the sunlight.Lighting
I used my sunglasses as a filter to compensate for the overly bright spot of sunlight and create silhouettes of the not very interesting homes in the foreground.Equipment
Hand held Nikon D3500 18-55mm 3.5 kit lens. I'm retired and still saving for a better lens.Inspiration
I enjoy catching the ever changing clouds and patterns of light the sky gives me within walking distance of my house. I'm disabled so can't do a huge amount of walking.Editing
I tend towards moody underexposed shots so I used Photoshop dehaze to darken the clouds and foreground. It also helped enhance the amber color of the sunlight peaking through. In my camera bag
My Nikon D3500, the two kit lenses it came with and my sunglasses.Feedback
Sunsets can look pretty thin compaired to what your eye can see and the minimal equipment I have, so Photoshop helps tremendously to get the look I want.
