Location
The photo was taken in Val d'Orcia in the province of Siena, Italy. Unesco World Heritage Site for its characteristic landscape of remarkable beauty.Time
I remember taking it around 10 in the morning and I was dazzled by its green shades of evergreen trees in any season in contrast with the only red tree, among olive trees and cypresses, despite being a late autumn period. This place has marked changes of light and colors, both during the year and every hour of the day, even in this shot where it was not a sunny day.Lighting
As I said, the geographical position of central Italy, the climate and the countryside make this place special due to the particular light this natural environment has.Equipment
This is was shot with SONY DSLR-A200 without tripod, completely freehand in a lucky light situation despite not being a sunny day but rather cold.Inspiration
The observation point is very popular for those who come to Pienza and want to take a photo of the natural landscape. The dominant green color, I repeat, always in autumn, contrasts with the only tree of a different color and the gentle hills seem almost painted in this valley.Editing
The only changes were the most natural rendering of colors and contrast possible to make the most of the corresponding RAW file of the shot, within the limits of my camera of only 10.2 megapixels. Making the shots, especially landscape shots, as visually as in the moment they were taken, in the photoediting phase with a natural effect, is always the best thing. In my camera bag
Only camera and 55 objectiveFeedback
The best advice is to always remain as natural as possible, without modifying too much in making your shots too artifact and exploiting as much as possible the digital data of each file of your digital shot while maintaining principles of contrast, always, between light, midtones and shadows. The rest comes by itself.
