The Ocinyi Collective was created with the aim of showing through imagery the Afro Christian culture that throughout history has undergone many changes since North Africa where Christianity was a solid religion, but which suffered a great impact after the Islamic expansion in the seventh century. Thus the Christian faith was withdrawn and losing space on the continent. After times of slavery, the demonization of African culture and its religions, today blacks suffer serious prejudices, either because of their color or their belief.

In a country where slavery was abolished only 127 years ago, there are still serious problems with the racial issue. Ocinyi wants to show how they live outside their country and how they exercise their Christian religion in Brazil.

With our photos we intend to cause the viewer's curiosity and sharpen their imagination through the faith of the other adding information.

The entire process was studied recognizing the temple space, adapting to the processes of worship and ceremony to capture the essence of each one.

We exalt their religiosity through the eyes of each photographer, each dedicating themselves to the best moment waiting for chance.
