Location
The location: Lake Chamberlain, the Rocky Cove site. The lake is a part of the Allagash Wilderness Waterway, Allagash, Maine.Time
The Time and Date: 17 July 2020, at 4:53 AM.Lighting
What I had seen is what I had captured. Mother Nature supplied the lighting/ illumination. I don't know how useful the following is going to be, but anyway,- It's best to be set up as early as possible. The lighting may "stall" in that period of waiting, but more often than not, the changes that One wants, that One LOOKS for in a photograph can be quite rapid, and if One is going to capture that moment, that one split-second instant, then He / She had better be on their toes.Equipment
The camera was a SONY a7Rlll, the lens their 16-35mm F2.8 GM series. I can't remember if I had used a polarizer. A tripod was also used as well as an electronic shutter release.Inspiration
One has only to view the photograph to answer the question. This particular frame is one third of a three-frame panorama.Editing
Oh, yes. For starters, this is an HDR composed of three frames. Some "burning and dodging" was also performed but nothing out of the ordinary. The software used is the most up-to-date version of Adobe's Lightroom and I highly recommend it. I don't think that "focus stacking" was involved. In my camera bag
Starting off with the "bag", I have a LowPro camera backpack capable of carrying a lot, including my carbon-fibre tripod. Inside are two SONY a7Rlll bodies and four lenses; polarizing filters; spare batteries for those bodies as well as for my GPS, SpotGens emergency device, flashlight and headlamp; an electronic shutter release; spare camera body caps, lens caps, rear element lens covers; flash cards; cotton balls; Windex, industrial alcohol, and what is needed to clean the sensor. In addition, I carry a map / maps, a compass, water, Kind Bars (energy bars), fire starters, cigarette lighter, a small flashlight, a headlamp, a jackknife as well as a kaa-bar, an emergency blanket / cocoon / "mummy" sort of thing, especially in Winter. I DON'T GO ANYWHERE AT ANY TIME WITHOUT THESE ITEMS.Feedback
LEARN HOW TO MANUALLY OPERATE YOUR CAMERA. Or in other words, know your equipment thoroughly. There is no substitute for knowing what-the-hell you are doing. "Spur of the moment" is all well and good, but it helps to have some idea as to where you are going and what to expect.
