I found these little guys in a small puddle on my Boyfriends farm. It had just rained and I was waiting for him to come home from work. So I through on my rubber boots and went looking for some great shots. This little guy was happy to oblige!Time
I took this first thing in the morning probably around 10 am. It had just finished raining, the sun was comingnout though still quite overcastLighting
It was quite over cast, some of my other photos were a bit hazzy from the overcast skies and the fresh rain (which still looked amazing ! Gave it a very artistic glow). I was very suprised these turned out so wellEquipment
Just my Nikon D5300 and my short lens.Inspiration
I just love nature and wildlife. I work in animal medicine, but photography has always been a passion. I was that 7 year old taking (mostly crummy) photos of everything ! ( I cut out alot of heads / faces haha)Editing
I post edit minor amounts. I prefer the natural looks. This one I did a little bit of adjustment with the light ing and contrast but thats it :)In my camera bag
My camera and lens',extra memory cards,a rain shield, extra battery ,charger and chords. My secondary bag has my filters, extra rain shield and lens ball (and anything else I add)Feedback
Patience is key! Be ready to hunker down for a few hours at a time just sitting and waiting. Some of my best shots were taken after watching nests and area for over 3 hours. Take multiple exposures as well. Just incase you get some motion blur you have options to fall back on esp with a once in a life time shot
