A medieval bell tower in the center of Bruges, added to the market square around 1240, the one is the rebuilt after a devastating fire in 1280 and display a few other reconstructions after a couple of other fires.
Henry Wadsworth Longfellow wrote about a poem about it.
"In the market-place of Bruges stands the belfry old and brown;
Thrice consumed and thrice rebuilded, still it watches o'er the town."
