The photo was taken at Allison's house, i wanted to capture her in the environment that can represent and support her very well. I loved her boho style house, very earthy feeling of it, simple but beautiful.Time
It was a 2nd time I visited Allison and her family in the mountains. I remember that i came up there in the morning, the weather was nice and sunny compare to my 1st visit. Kids were very active. I wasn't sure how we can do the portraits while her youngest 1-year-old daughter keeps asking for attention and keeps jumping on Allison's lap =) But i believe that it was about the middle of the day - perfect time for a nap. We decided to take a break and put baby for nap time. And it was exactly what was needed. I and Ali worked so well together. Ali was able to fully engage in the process without a need to pay attention to kids.Lighting
It was nothing striking about the lighting outside. It was partly cloudy but warm colors of the interior helped me to create a warm atmosphere of the portraitsEquipment
I shoot on Canon 5D Mark II. My primal lens is Canon 24-70L 2.8. Only natural light without a flash or any other artificial source of light.Inspiration

When you take a portrait it is very important to find a connection with the person. Do your homework with finding the best poses that will deliver the message about your subject. Work around and find the best lighting that suits your subject. It doesnt really matter what source of light you want to use (natural or artificial) or where you work (studio or on location) what matters the most is your connection to the subject and attention to details.
