Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in Abu Dhabi. I just love the sunset here and all the colors that appear in the sky. The mosque is unique symmetrical and the mirror formed for the water was so perfect that I couldn’t leave without this clic.

Time

I remember I was there with a friend and we stayed there waiting after the sun disappear because we felt that that day would come with a beautiful sky. We waited for about 2 hours there till see the perfect light. It was 30 of March at 6:22pm. The waiting was worth it.

Lighting

I wanted to show the amazing reflex of the mosque and the sky colors into the water to have this perfect symmetrical shape. These colors are so unique and beautiful.

Equipment

This was shot on a Nikon D7100 with a simple tripod

Inspiration

I was looking a good place to see the sunset that I had a good view from the sky and in the same time have something to compose my picture. So this spot was perfect for what I needed.

Editing

Yes. The pics are taken in RAW format and it kills the colors that we see, so I just adjust the white balance, shadows and vibrancy. No filter, nothing.

In my camera bag

Before I used to carry an 18-300mm lens and my Nikon camera with me, but lately I have only used the cell phone. Shame on me (or not)

Feedback

Patience is essencial when we want to freeze a moment that we were dreaming of. But in the desert more then patience I would recommend to avoid summer time because of the high humidity that will blur your lenses and it will took long to return back to normal. And to be honest, it’s sooo hot for wait outside for a perfect moment that I strongly recommend to come in winter or spring time. To be honest, here I found the most beautiful sunset that I ever see.
