No this lake is not in New Zealand. This is the Walchensee, the Bavarian Caribbean. Due to the valley location it is suitable for surfing and from the Jochberg you have a wonderful view of the Alps. The lake is 200 meters deep and during a dive you can discover car and plane wrecks here. According to a legend, a huge catfish lives in the shallows of the lake, which once wound around the Jochberg. In order to reconcile the catfish, a golden ring was consecrated every year in the crypt church in Munich, which was thrown into the Walchensee. And then gold from the Nazi era is supposed to be hidden here, another myth that is entwined with this mysterious lake.
