There are many black swallowtail species but this one is the only one that has an eye spot with a black pupil. By the way if you ever want to learn to grab good shots of butterflies find a thistle patch. Butterflies love thistle nectar and get so caught up sticking their faces in the petals that you can sneak up on them and get a nice shot.
