Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was captured at a friends cottage, the chipmunk was very friendly and kept running up to us, even though we had nothing to give him every once in a while.

Time

Noon to aprox 2pm

Lighting

All lighting used in this photo was natural lighting, there was no strobe or flash involved, just the sun and shade :)

Equipment

I used my normal kit lens which is 35 to 135mm zoom, with my Canon 80D body, hand held, with no artificial lighting. All natural

Inspiration

I've always been one for nature, so when chippy here approached up, I bolted for my camera as not many wildlife critters will come within 5 feet of you, little chippy here crawled right up on my hand at one point. So I focused and captured this little guy while he was waiting for us to give him some peanuts.

Editing

I do, but i did no on this photo, i believe i may have darkened the highlights but that is it.

In my camera bag

I normally have my Canon 80D body, with my original 35 to 135 mm kit lens, with an additional al 75 to 200mm zoom lens. I tent to keep my flash handy at all times also, and my tripod/monitor is a MUST.

Feedback

Be patient, you wont get that perfect picture right off the hop, sit for a while, enjoy the noises the world has to offer, keep your camera handy and when the time gives you an opportunity, dont wait for the next, there may not be a next! And have fun with it, dont stress if you cannot get it first try. Us professionals rarely do.
