Beautiful Maple trees abound in my part of the state. I love to photograph them!

Behind The Lens

Location

This is a beautiful adult Great Blue Heron. I found him down the road from my home in Freeport Michigan. I am an amature who wants to go pro. I love to photograph wildlife!

Time

I was out and about and decided to take the "long way" home. I saw him and the beautiful feathers and couldn't resist!

Lighting

The sunshine was beautiful on this day, it make each and every one of his feathers stand out.

Equipment

I simply used my Nikon coolpix 500, hand held, no tripod

Inspiration

I think the Great Blue Heron is absolutely beautiful!

Editing

I have never ever touched up any of my photo's. I love the "natural" look of them

In my camera bag

My Nikon camera, I NEVER leave home without it, learned this the hard way! I saw a Snowy Owl one day and didn't have my camera with me, I was so very angry with myself! But, it did teach me a very valuable lesson!!

Feedback

Patience, absolute Patience!!! Go where the water is and sit quietly and wait. While waiting, really enjoy the peacefulness.
