Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photograph in a field in Ifield. We were wondering for ages until we found this field, as soon as the clouds started to clear we took the opportunity to shoot.

Time

It was around lunchtime (1pm) we had just had a picnic and decided to take some experimental images. I didn't have a tripod on me so I was trying so hard to get the image as straight as possible.

Lighting

I tried to get the sun behind me so the model was highlighted and in focus more than the clouds behind her.

Equipment

I used a Nikon D5500 camera and nothing else, it was so bright so I didn't use flash or any special settings.

Inspiration

I get most inspired by outfits as well as other photos. When walking around I noticed how the clouds complimented the models outfit and decided to start shooting. We tried lots of different positions and even a fisheye lens but this was the best photo out of the many

Editing

This image has not been edited at all, straight from the camera!

In my camera bag

I don't normally bring a bag with me, just my trusty camera and an extra battery and SD card ( just in case ) which I put in my pocket. I only use my bag if I'm going on holiday, so it keeps my camera safe.

Feedback

You've got to time it right, make sure the sun is shining otherwise your photo will be dark, although you could edit this out later. Also try and make your model the main focus as that is what the viewers want to see.
