Hello I am having problems with ViewBug today. I tried to say thank you to everyone but for some reason, it deleted two people and I cannot access the reply button. I am so sorry BUT THANK YOU to everyone for your comments, it is appreciated.

Location
I took this photo on Lake of Two Rivers lake in Algonquin Park, Ontario, Canada. It was taken from our canoe and this little Merganser family was spotted and quite a bit of time was spent watching and photographing them as they swam around the area.Time
I believe it was about 530 pm towards the end of the month of June.Lighting
I don't remember exactly what the lighting was like and I don't use flashes.Equipment
I used my Nikon 7100 with a 70-30 mm lens, no tripod or flash. I rarely use a tripod when photographing wildlife and never use a tripod when we are in our canoe, which we were for this shot.Inspiration
I love wildlife so we do a lot of canoeing and hiking to find and photograph birds, ducks, moose, bear, fox, whatever. Canoeing is one of the best ways to photograph ducks, herons, etc. Mergansers are one of my favourites to photograph.Editing
I cropped and adjusted the contrast, highlights, shadows etc. The usual when you shoot in Raw.In my camera bag
It depends where I am and what I'm doing. In the canoe, I take my camera and either 70-300 lens or my 200-500 mm lens. If I'm hiking I normally carry a camera with a 17-200 mm lens and then a camera with one of the aforementioned lenses. That's it. No extras. Very rarely I will carry a tripod but I never end of using it.Feedback
I do mostly wildlife photography. My motto has always been- Right Place, Right Time. You can occasionally predict where wildlife may be from past experience, knowledge of the area etc but for the most part..........they will be where they are and hopefully you are there at the same time.
