This photo was taken, looking out the living room window at the front of the house. Nothing extra ordinary except that bugs like to mate on this window a lot.Time
Was probably taken around lunch time. I was siting on the couch, car watching, when I saw the bugs, I ran to grab my camera and tripod, hoping they would still be there upon returning.Lighting
Use the lighting to your best advantage. When I dont have a flash on, I carry a white folder to help bounce light onto my subject.Equipment
Canon EOS R, canon 100mm macro lensInspiration
Was just a spur of the moment. Saw the bugs and decided to take quick action. Most often I just see something and intuitively think to snap away.Editing
Just some light touchups. A little cropping to zoom in on the action. In my camera bag
Usually I carry my Canon body, my 50mm RF 1.2 prime, my RF kit zoom lens, an external flash (my body does not have a built in flash), remote triggers, sd cards, filters, cleaner cloth, batteries, and oddly a pack of dental flossers.Feedback
Expect the unexpected. Always have your camera readily available so you don’t miss the action. If a DSLR isn’t an option, phones work as an alternative.
