Location
This photo was taken at my home in California.Time
This photo was taken in the afternoon. I vividly remember preparing for this photo by breaking a mirror and arranging it near a window. This photo was taken on May 28, 2020, 3:32 P.M.Lighting
In order to achieve the eerie glow around the subject, I captured this picture near a window and took this photo in the afternoon so that the lighting would be right.Equipment
This photo was taken on my mobile phone, specifically the iPhone 11.Inspiration
My photography teacher assigned us a project to take pictures using reflections. At that time, I fell in love with mirrors and the variety of compositions associated with broken glass. I wanted to capture the feelings of this global pandemic, especially brokenness, and what better way to do so than shattered glass.Editing
I edited the photo in PhotoScape X, specifically, I retouched the lighting and small blemishes to attain the mysterious look.In my camera bag
I always bring my Nikon N70 with a Nikon Nikkor f/3.5, 28-80mm camera lens. I usually also carry a spare roll of ISO 400 film.Feedback
Experiment, and push boundaries. By doing so, not only have I found a new love in photography, but also my captures have improved dramatically. Experimentation is key, and the more creative one is, the better the outcome of the photograph.
