The lighting was great, nice and moody. As the sun was setting the light was changing making different colors pop. The bright center provided just enough light for a focal point and the shadows stayed open enough to be able to see the boat and the shorelineEquipment
I used a Nikon d5100 with an 18-70 2.4 sigma lens mounted on a Monfretto tripod.Inspiration
I had been shooting all day at the Mystic seaport. My wife and I decided to stop for ice cream at a small roadside stand. In back of the stand were picnic tables. As we sat there enjoying our ice cream we watched the sun set over a small lake and the colors were amazing. I waited till just the right moment to capture this shot.Editing
