This photo was taken in the home of this client turned friend. I had photographed her maternity session and was honored to photograph her again with the baby!Time
The session started at 10am, my usual time for a session. It worked very well with the baby's schedule.Lighting
I love my images to look painterly, especially ones with mothers and children. I used one light, camera right and feathered.Equipment

I love documenting precious memories, like the bond between a mother and child. I was delighted that this client asked to get this done.Editing
I did some minimal post processing - eliminating blemishes on skin, removing hair fly always and smoothing skin. Then I finished it off with a preset on Alien Skin.In my camera bag

I would advice that anyone wanting to capture something similar should study how the old painting masters captured their subjects, and also invest in some education on lighting to achieve painterly images.
