Behind The Lens

Location

I took this on the beach at PJ Hoffmaster State Park along Lake Michigan.

Time

It was taken at sunset, about as late as it gets before it becomes dusk

Lighting

The sun and atmosphere did it all, I paid more attention to the water and the waves than I did the lighting.

Equipment

This was shot simply on my iPhone 7 Plus.

Inspiration

Having heard a lot of people talk about the quality of the iPhone cameras I had just decided to take a couple of pictures at the beach with it to see what I could do in one picture ended up catching the waves really nicely making them look smooth like glass, so I decided to lay down and see if I could get as flat as possible across the tiny waves to see how glassy I could capture it.

Editing

None.

In my camera bag

This wasn’t a planned shoot, I just had my phone with me in a day I went to the beach at sunset.

Feedback

Just a matter of knowing what you’d like to see in taking many pictures until you can get it just right.
